"Excuse me." dannilsson16 looked up from the gas tank to see a blonde girl bundled in a winter coat, her cheeks and nose flushed from the cold. She had on a backpack with a purse and duffel bag slung over her shoulder, and was dragging a small roller suitcase behind her. There was an unmistakable look of desperation in her eye. "Are you headed out of state?" Holly asked. "I'm looking for someone to give me a ride out of town. As far as you're willing to take me." Judging from the way the girl kept looking over her shoulder, dannilsson16 was certain she was running from something.
Hi there, Hollie, Glad to see you. As I said earlier, I'm heading back to Metropolis. So you can come along with me and I need to take this old pickup with me.
Thank you so much, dannilsson16. That's amazing. I really appreciate it. Holly smiled, though it didn't quite reach her eyes.
Do you need anything to eat before we get on the roads.
Hollie shrugged. "I'm not really hungry right now."
Alright, no worries. Once we're on the road, we can make stops for breaks whenever you need them. Just let me know if you get too tired or anything else comes up.
(Scene continues with dannilsson16 and Holly making their way out of the truck stop and onto the highway.)
As they drove along the highway, the silence began to stretch between them. It was clear that Hollie was hesitant to reveal more about her situation or where she was trying to escape from.
Holly finally broke the silence, her voice small. "I appreciate you doing this for me."
Yes, I knew you where leaving town. Were are you heading?
Holly shrugged, trying to appear nonchalant. "Anywhere. Just... away from here."
Okey, so do you want to go to Metropolis with me?
Holly considered for a moment. "I'll take you up on that. Thank you."
Good, hey, look over there! It looks like a tornado coming in.
Holly's eyes widened, and she stared out the window in horror as the dark clouds drew closer.
Holly said, stop. I turn in to the side of the road. Can you wait a minute. I need a comfort break. She took her backpack with her and rushed in to the trees.
Holly waited in the car, her hands shaking as she gripped the steering wheel tightly. As dannilsson16 took longer than she expected, Holly's anxiety grew. She was certain that the storm was bearing down on them, and she couldn't help but imagine the worst.
I ran out of site from Hollie in the car. I transformed to my Superman uniform and flew in to the eye of the tornado. I saved a few people from getting hurt by the strong winds. It felt good to use my Superpowers. After my mission I landed at the same spot an hide my costume under my street clothes.
Holly jumped as the car door opened, revealing dannilsson16. "Jesus! You scared me."
Sorry, I needed a break. Now I'm back. Are you alright?
Holly shook her head. "No, not really. I'm just... freaked out by the storm."
"Yeah, it is a bad one." I watched with my x-ray vision and found a hand gun in her bag. She was holding it tight.
"What the hell?" Holly's eyes widened, and she stared at him in shock.
